ShowMeStepByStep (“we”, “us”) operates showmestepbystep.com. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Analytics data. When you visit a page we use Google Analytics 4 to record anonymized usage events (page views, approximate location at country level, device type, referring URL). We do not collect your name, email address, or any directly identifying information unless you voluntarily provide it.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) records standard HTTP request logs including IP address, user agent, and timestamp. These are retained for security and abuse prevention.
• Cookies. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies to distinguish unique visitors across sessions. We do not use cookies for advertising profiling or cross-site tracking.

How we use it

• To understand which tutorials are most useful so we can improve them.
• To detect and prevent abuse of the site.
• To generate aggregated statistics that inform our editorial decisions.

We do not sell personal data. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-party services

• Google Analytics 4 — traffic measurement. Data is processed by Google under its own privacy policy.
• Vercel — hosting and CDN. Standard web-server logs; see Vercel's privacy policy.
• Amazon Associates— some product links in our tutorials are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Amazon may set its own cookies; see Amazon's privacy policy for details.
• YouTube (embedded videos) — when a tutorial embeds the source YouTube video, YouTube may set cookies on playback. See Google's privacy policy.
• Pinterest, IndexNow, Bing Webmaster Tools, Google Search Console — we submit our public URLs to these indexing services so our content can be discovered. These integrations do not transmit visitor data.

Affiliate disclosure

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Affiliate links are clearly labeled on each tutorial. Our editorial recommendations are not influenced by commissions — we only recommend products that are relevant to the tutorial.

Your choices

• Opt out of analytics. You can block Google Analytics with the official opt-out browser add-on or a standard ad/tracker blocker.
• Do Not Track.We respect your browser's Do Not Track setting where applicable.
• Data access / deletion. Because we do not collect directly identifying information, there is typically nothing to retrieve or delete. If you believe we hold data about you and want it removed, contact us at the address below.

Children

ShowMeStepByStep is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will update the “Last updated” date above when we do. For material changes we will post a notice on the homepage.
